LANs (Local Area Networks)
UMIS have many years experience in all levels of LANs from simple
peer to peer networks, for two computers sharing files and a printer
through to multiple server configuration, including file servers,
backup servers, e-mail servers and print servers, providing e-mail,
fax and web access to any or all individuals desktop terminals at
any or all times of the day and night.
Whether you have two or a hundred computers that are looking to
be networked, upgraded or merely linked to the internet UMIS offers
connectivity and interactivity for all manner of business potential.
WANs (Wide Area Networks)
WANs are traditionally made up of two or more LANs linked together
over a phone or leased line so that one company can share data between
two or more offices. More recently the term WAN has come to incorporate
laptop's with mobile phones and people working from home using the
internet to connect into the office. This has its security risks
but with the use of encryption in the form of VPNs (Virtual Private
Networks) and firewalls your data can be safer than if you leased
your own line.
The choice of hardware and software is just as critical to the secure
working of your WAN as the expertise required to install and configured
it. Installation of a WAN with all the necessary security, protecting
your data and systems is a very complex job and we have a team of
very highly trained consultants to help you do just that.
