This is the provision of a dedicated, high
speed connection to the Internet for customers either wanting a
large number of machines on the same connection or those with considerable
service bandwidth requirements.
A tier 2 provider such as UMIS offers connectivity via multiple
feeds from various tier 1 and 2 providers. Usually obtaining such
transit requires a minimum aggregate commitment from the various
providers, which is often expensive and far more bandwidth than
actually necessary. UMIS eliminates this problem by using our purchasing
power to commit to the larger quantities of bandwidth from carriers
and internet exchanges, in turn making available this transit to
our customers in more manageable and cost effective amounts.
